Aggies squander another lead in loss to Mizzou

Here are five things to take from the Aggies’ loss to Missouri:

-Again, the Aggies’ second-half issues reared their ugly head. Against Oklahoma State, Arkansas and, now, Missouri, the team has squandered double-digit halftime leads and lost.

-The A&M offense that put up 28 points in the first half, making it look easy for the better part of 30 minutes couldn’t do anything in the decisive second half. The Aggies scored three points and turned it over twice. It had the chance throughout the third quarter to put its foot on Missouri’s throat and couldn’t capitalize.

-Coach Mike Sherman is going to catch some flak for his call on third-and-two in overtime. With Christine Michael and Cyrus Gray on the roster, he elected to pitch it to wide receiver Ryan Swope. The play resulted in a three yard loss.

-The A&M defense had loads of problems bringing down James Franklin when he ran the football. On his first touchdown run, Franklin broke four tackles and throughout the game, the A&M defenders couldn’t get him to the ground.

-Now at 5-3 on the season, A&M very well could lose three in a row with trips to Norman and Manhattan upcoming. It’s gut check time in Aggieland.
